What we collect
- Account info: email, display name, password hash (handled by our auth provider).
- Profile info you provide: bio, city, music tastes, interests, Instagram handle, avatar, gallery photos.
- Activity: events you save or RSVP to, messages you send, follows, reactions.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, basic device info.
- Precise location (only when you enable Nearby): when you tap to enable the Nearby feature on iOS, we request your device's precise location via the system permission prompt and use it to find the closest market and rank nearby venues/events. We do not track your location in the background and we do not store a location history — coordinates are cached on-device for up to 30 minutes to keep the Nearby surface responsive, and the active market name derived from them is sent with analytics events.
- Product analytics & usage events: in-app actions (screens viewed, taps, searches, RSVPs, sends, errors) tagged with your account user ID and the active market/city, used to improve the product.
- Session recordings: we may record anonymized playback of your in-app sessions for debugging and product analytics. Sensitive content — including direct messages, group chats, private event details, attendee identities, contact info, handles, phone, and email fields — is masked at capture time and never leaves your device in readable form.
How we use it
To run the Service: authenticate you, show you events and people, deliver messages, personalise recommendations, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve product decisions. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Analytics processor
We use PostHog as our product analytics and session-replay processor. Analytics and replay data are sent to PostHog's EU region (eu.i.posthog.com) and processed under their data processing terms. Events are linked to your Listd user ID so we can measure user-level funnels; you can request deletion of your analytics profile by emailing us (see Your rights).
Where it's stored
Listd uses managed cloud infrastructure for database, storage and authentication. Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted to the Listd team and the infrastructure provider for the purpose of operating the Service.
Who can see your data
Your public profile (display name, avatar, bio, city, music tastes, interests, gallery) is visible to other signed-in users. Direct messages are visible to recipients. Group chat messages are visible to other members of the group. Private event details are visible only to the host and invitees. Admins may access content reported for moderation.
Cookies & local storage
We use cookies and browser/device storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and store analytics identifiers. You can clear them at any time, but you may be signed out.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, block users, delete your account, and request export or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing
privacy@listd.app. Deletion removes your profile and content from the Service; some data may be retained in backups for a limited period and where required by law.
Children
Listd is not directed at people under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a material way, we will notify you in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated policy.
